Research – to generate new knowledge

CSI’s current research topics include: recruiters and their tactics and motivations, girl soldiers, the resiliency and agency of children and youth affected by armed conflict and the impact of including specific provisions related to children in armed conflict in peace agreements.

Advocacy and awareness raising – to build understanding and mobilize greater action

By building connections with influential people and groups around the world – from the military, humanitarian, political, economic, human rights and legal spheres, to the general public – CSI is attempting to harness a global responsibility towards a global challenge and create a movement that enhances current efforts towards the eradication of the use of child soldiers.

Education, training and capacity building – for security actors

CSI is partnering with local and international organizations to provide training to national defense and police forces on ways to help address the problem of the use and recruitment of children by armed groups.
